Centre for Child and Adolescent Development
Comfy Care12 team members visited Kituo cha Maendeleo ya Mtoto na Kijana (The Centre for Child and Adolescent Development) in Bagamoyo to support young women and girls with essential menstrual health education and reusable sanitary pads.

Comfy Care12's team, led by Stella, Kautha, and Jodi, addressed common menstrual health myths and shared vital knowledge about proper hygiene practices. The sessions also tackled the psychological and social challenges girls face due to lack of support, such as fear of embarrassment and cultural stigmas.

By distributing reusable sanitary pads, Comfy Care12 not only provided a sustainable solution to menstrual product scarcity but also allowed girls to menstruate with dignity and confidence.

The Comfy Care12 team were inspired by the incredible work being done by the centre, which offers a safe space, education, healthcare, and financial support to underprivileged youth.

Australian Volunteers Program and Comfy Care12 volunteer, Jodi, said, ‘These efforts empower young women and girls, giving them the chance to break the cycle of poverty, gain new opportunities, and ultimately support their own communities.'
'When we work together with organizations that share our mission, we create a stronger, more resilient future for the next generation.’
