Following a successful MS-TCDC-funded visit to Ilkurot Secondary School, where Comfy Care12 provided menstrual health education and distributed reusable sanitary pads to 50 adolescent girls as part of a global Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign, Comfy Care12 team members, Yasinta and Jodi, returned to Ngaramton.

This time, they focused on delivering menstrual health education and distributing reusable sanitary pads to 100 girls at Ilkurot Primary School.

The girls were eager to learn and asked many insightful questions, such as how to manage menstrual pain and when menstruation typically begins. One girl shared her experience of her first period, explaining how her mother refused to talk to her about it. Yasinta reassured her that girls in similar situations should feel comfortable reaching out to a trusted teacher for support and guidance.

Comfy Care12 were very pleased to included boys in this education session for the first time. This is a key element of Comfy Care12's strategy, as educating boys about menstrual health helps foster understanding, break down stigma, and build a supportive environment for their peers.

It's time to normalize menstrual health education for all students—because an informed generation is one that is compassionate and empowered.

A heartfelt thank you to MS-TCDC for their continued support, making it possible to create a more equitable future for both girls and boys in Tanzania.
